Engineering Manager, AI and Compute, Sole Tenancy

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g. Python, Go, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
  • 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects, with 3 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in designing, analysing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
  • Experience in recruiting, interview, and onboarding new engineering talent.
  • Ability to debug and optimize code and automate routine tasks.
  • Excellent problem-solving, and verbal and written communication skills.

Sole Tenancy is a high-growth powerhouse, serves as the strategic entry point for Google Compute Engine's (GCE) customers. In this role, you will work on features that unlock massive enterprise data center exits, fundamentally changing how large-scale clients approach cloud adoption. You will help solve complex, large-scale problems and lead a high-performing team that transforms host management into a high-performance, intelligent service. You’ll be building features that let enterprises capitalize their cloud spend, a key differentiator that makes Google Cloud Platform (GCP) the destination for the world’s largest migrations.

Responsibilities

  • Shape the product goal and technical roadmap for Sole Tenancy.
  • Guide a talented engineering team in Warsaw through high-stakes transitions. Foster a high-performance culture that balances feature velocity with rock-solid reliability.
  • Partner with Product, Sales, and SRE teams to bridge the gap between complex hyperscale infrastructure and customer-centric business value.
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of software projects, ensuring quality, timeliness, and efficiency.
  • Provide technical and career mentorship to a team of engineers, ensuring they are growing while we build the future of host-based cloud computing.
