Our products need to handle information at massive scale, and extend well beyond web search. We're looking for engineers who bring fresh ideas from all areas, including information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking and data storage, security, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, UI design and mobile; the list goes on and is growing every day. As a backend Software Engineer on the Health Fitness Metrics team, you will build and scale the centralized domain architecture responsible for calculating and serving core fitness metrics. You will design robust data pipelines, ingest algorithms, and APIs that process cardiovascular and physical activity data with high fidelity. You will focus on cross-screen mathematical consistency, data reconciliation, and system performance to deliver reliable, actionable insights. This role is crucial for maintaining the backbone of Google Health's fitness experiences, ensuring total data integrity from backend storage to user-facing applications.
