Senior Product Manager, Google Cloud Compute

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in product management or a related technical role.
  • 3 years of experience taking technical products from conception to launch (e.g., ideation to execution, end-to-end, 0 to 1, etc).
  • 3 years of experience developing/launching products/technologies within one or more of the following: cloud, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), enterprise, internal tools, or supply chain networks.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working on cloud based services and infrastructure.
  • Experience working cross-functionally (presenting and influencing) with executive stakeholders at global organizations.
  • Demonstrated experience with hybrid cloud architectures, particularly with VMware environments and Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including Google Cloud VMware Engine (GCVE) or similar technologies.
  • Ability to communicate and influence decisions cross-functionally and at all levels of an organization and take initiatives.
  • Excellent narrative and storytelling skills that propel usage, adoption and market momentum.

Our team works closely with creative engineers, designers, marketers, etc. to help design and develop technologies that improve access to the world's information. We're responsible for guiding products throughout the execution cycle, focusing specifically on analyzing, positioning, packaging, promoting, and tailoring our solutions to our users.

Google Cloud Compute generates multi-billion dollar annual business across its portfolio. Google Cloud VMware Engine (GCVE), one of three primary compute offerings alongside GCE and GKE, allows customers to migrate VMware applications to Google Cloud without altering apps, tools, or processes, enabling access to Google's AI capabilities. With VMware Cloud Foundation 9 (VCF 9), GCVE is expanding to a self-managed solution to give customers complete control and flexibility.

In this role, you will be a creative, analytical product manager with strong people management skills, experience in large-scale compute and VMware infrastructure, and exposure to emerging technologies to lead customer transitions to this new model.

Responsibilities

  • Drive, build, and scale new customer experiences to seamlessly transition mission-critical production workloads across disparate infrastructure environments.
  • Work across product and engineering teams from across multiple GCP organizations towards product goals and roadmap.
  • Understand the partner dynamics and industry trends on where the innovation is happening for both workloads and hardware.
  • Provide data-driven insights to prioritize engineering initiatives and maximize return on investment.
  • Collaborate with peers across all layers of the cloud stack.
