Senior Technical Program Manager I, Frontier Safety, Trust and Safety

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in program management.
  • Experience with data analytics and dashboard development.
  • Experience in AI/ML application, process design and automation.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 8 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience in AI testing, regression, and red-teaming integration.
  • Experience with the software development lifecycle, integration testing, and ML pipeline management.
  • Demonstrated expertise in frontier AI safety and LLM evaluation to measure, categorize, and track emergent frontier risks, jailbreaks, and adversarial vulnerabilities in multimodal foundation models.
  • Proven track record leading large, cross-functional programs across distributed engineering, product, policy, and legal organizations.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

We partner with teams across Google to deliver bold solutions in abuse areas such as malware, spam and account hijacking. A team of Analysts, Policy Specialists, Engineers, and Program Managers, we work to reduce risk and fight abuse across all of Google’s products, protecting our users, advertisers, and publishers across the globe in over 40 languages.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $192000 - $278000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute comprehensive technical programs to identify, measure, and record frontier risks across next-generation Gemini models and Search integrations.
  • Establish and drive standardized new model launch testing suites, stress-testing workflows, and regression tracking to catch capability degradation or safety bypasses before deployment.
  • Partner with cross functional teams to embed rigorous frontier safety gating criteria and convert emerging attack vectors into permanent regression defenses within formal launch lifecycles while aligning with cross functional teams to orchestrate end-to-end mitigation deployment and infrastructure readiness.
  • Architect and automate real-time risk telemetry, reporting dashboards and narratives to provide executive leadership with clear visibility into residual risk profiles and drive critical launch decision-making.
  • Guide mitigation strategies across both model level and application level, ensuring safety outcomes across user endpoints.
