Strategic Operations Manager, Egregious Harms, Service Delivery, Trust and Safety

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in Solutions Consulting, Program Management, or Vendor Operations within a technical environment (BPO, AI, or SaaS).
  • Experience leading cross-organizational transformations, moving global workforces away from manual processes towards automated, hybrid, or AI-driven solutions.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience managing high-complexity, global programs with an understanding of how upstream technical changes create downstream operational impacts.
  • Demonstrated expertise building or managing complex models, navigating strategic sourcing, and designing processes that scale across multiple product areas or global sites.
  • Proven understanding of AI/ML concepts (Human-in-the-Loop, precision/recall, model drift) with the ability to confidently evaluate vendor technical architecture and shape product integration roadmaps.
  • Ability to influence senior, cross-functional leadership and drive alignment across teams with deeply competing priorities or ambiguous goals.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills with attention-to-detail in an ever-changing environment.

Trust and Safety team members are tasked with identifying and taking on the biggest problems that challenge the safety and integrity of our products. They use technical know-how, excellent problem-solving skills, user insights, and proactive communication to protect users and our partners from abuse across Google products like Search, Maps, Gmail, and Google Ads. On this team, you're a big-picture thinker and strategic team-player with a passion for doing what’s right. You work globally and cross-functionally with Google engineers and product managers to identify and fight abuse and fraud cases at Google speed - with urgency. And you take pride in knowing that every day you are working hard to promote trust in Google and ensuring the highest levels of user safety.

As a senior Strategic Operations Manager, you will drive the overarching strategy and execution of high-complexity programs that bridge traditional vendor operations with next-generation, AI-driven solutions. In this role, you will transition our external footprint from tactical execution to a highly optimized, tech-forward Solutions Architecture function.

You will act as a principal strategic advisor to senior Trust and Safety stakeholders and cross-functional leadership, defining how we leverage external partners, AI-assisted workflows, and automation models to solve our most ambiguous, global content moderation challenges. You will think globally, anticipate industry breakthroughs, and architect resilient, hybrid sourcing ecosystems that balance high-efficiency machine learning with expert human-in-the-loop (HITL) precision.

A team of Analysts, Policy Specialists, Engineers, and Program Managers, we work to reduce risk and fight abuse across all of Google’s products, protecting our users, advertisers, and publishers across the globe in over 40 languages.Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Ireland: €138000 - €142000 (EUR) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Define the long-term roadmap and technical architecture for T&S operations, evaluating ambiguous, unprecedented policy and product shifts, and design the optimal global mix of automated classifiers, high-latency Large Language Model (LLMs), and expert human infrastructure.
  • Navigate complex organization boundaries and align senior stakeholders (Engineering, Product, Policy, Legal) with competing objectives, serving as a trusted advisor to key decision-makers, advocating for global program needs, and lead multiple cross-functional workstreams to a unified goal.
  • Own end-to-end delivery and resource allocation for highly complex, multi-million dollar vendor migrations and solution deployments.
  • Drive the global transformation of Google’s vendor ecosystem from traditional staff augmentation to outcome-based managed services, leading high-impact Proof-of-Concepts for emerging AI data operations and establish new capability benchmarks for our worldwide partners.
