Production Engineer, DeepMind (Fixed-Term Contract)

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in program management.
  • Experience with IP video and audio technologies (ST2110, AES67, Dante) and baseband video standards.
  • Experience with IP networking (IGMP, DNS, routing) and utilizing packet capture tools for network troubleshooting.
  • Experience operating studio camera systems, LED walls, and managing technical facility documentation using AutoCAD.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience working as a broadcast or production engineer.
  • 2 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience with broadcast AV systems (Ross and Sony switchers, SSL consoles, SAN storage) and internet streaming.
  • Experience supporting high-end post-production workflows and providing technical guidance for tools like Adobe Premiere, DaVinci Resolve, and Pro Tools.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain intricate technical concepts and resolve complex technical challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Drive operational excellence by ensuring high availability and optimal performance across our facilities, advocating proactive monitoring, preventative maintenance, and rapid incident response to minimize downtime, maximize system performance.
  • Own the detailed technical design of critical infrastructure, translating the organization's needs into scalable solutions, while identifying emerging technologies and collaborating with vendors and production equipment manufacturers to implement solutions that anticipate future research needs.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for critical system issues and as Engineer In Charge for high-profile moments, troubleshooting problems, and collaborating closely with internal teams to drive swift resolutions while partnering with research teams.
  • Manage comprehensive facility documentation using AutoCAD to ensure all technical records are up to date and correct, while also overseeing suppliers, system integrators, and project budgets to establish the feasibility of any minor developments including accurate costings.
