The Office of the CTO (OCTO) is a team of highly experienced engineers and technologists, with direct sponsorship from the Cloud CTO and C-level, whose mission is to foster market-disrupting collaborative innovation between Google and the world's most ambitious organizations.

We believe small teams, operating with context, empowerment and access to the world’s most promising technology, create the breakthroughs that define markets. For the last 10 years, the Office of the CTO (OCTO) in Google Cloud has leveraged this insight to help our most customers transform their organizations using small, adaptable teams and methods, while concurrently supporting our internal collaborators as they take these early technology proof points and build them into scaled products and platforms.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $207000 - $301000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Drive an experienced machine learning engineer to help generate experiments across a broad range of topics.
  • Help evaluate technical problems and find a path forward that can be evaluated quickly.
  • Collaborate with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) product and engineering teams, Google research teams, and GCP customers to find applied uses for the latest in generative AI and machine learning technologies.
  • Help set the cultural tone for the team around teamwork, innovation and collaboration, and help develop our team’s ambitious strategy.
