About the job

The Google Payments Compliance team works to safeguard Google's users and protect our products from fraud and financial crimes abuse by ensuring strict adherence to global Anti-Money Laundering (AML)/Counter-Terrorist Financing (CTF) regulations. The Program Governance team serves as the central orchestration and oversight hub for Payments Compliance. We provide the foundational frameworks, strategic planning, and processes that enable the team to scale safely, maintain global alignment, and remain audit-ready.

In this role, you will manage the Payments Compliance intake lifecycle, ensuring requirements for new products, features, and global expansions are well-defined, vetted for operational feasibility, and prioritized by risk and impact before technical development. You will review Compliance Requirement Documents (CRDs), ensuring clarity and alignment with our prioritization framework.

You will unite Regional Compliance Officers and AML/KYC Operations teams under a cohesive global strategy to eliminate regional silos. Additionally, you will co-lead Payments Regulatory Monitoring (PayReg), driving this proactive global program alongside Payments and Legal partners to anticipate regulatory risks and inform prioritization.

You will lead early-stage planning, streamlining processes and vetting requests so Engineering can focus entirely on execution. You will drive end-to-end program management for large-scale initiatives across Legal, Finance, Product, Engineering, and Compliance, while actively resolving compliance blockers to maintain continuous alignment across the Payments Platform roadmap.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

  • Facilitate ongoing transparency into platform commitments, establishing clear tracking mechanisms.
  • Develop and publish clear metrics to identify pipeline trends (e.g., time in backlog, intake-to-execution velocity, priorities by region/team).
