Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 15 years of experience in software engineering and enterprise architecture.
  • Experience managing enterprise systems in a global, matrixed environment.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in a regulated environment delivering financial or corporate capabilities across a portfolio of first-party and third-party systems.
  • Understanding of technical industry trends (e.g., AI/ML, Generative AI) and their application to enterprise productivity.
  • Ability to work with multiple business constituencies and balance technical aptitude with business speed.
  • Ability to influence senior-level management and key stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Excellent articulation of complex technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.

About the job

As Architectural Platform Lead, you will be a senior technical leader responsible for sustaining technical architecture across first-party and third-party systems within Enterprise Engineering Excellence (EEE). You will unify our next-generation Agentic AI and Data platforms, defining how autonomous agents securely and compliantly interact with enterprise data, third-party ecosystems, and core infrastructure.

In this role, you will own the architecture for critical components including the Agent lifecycle, Enterprise context, Profile Systems, Agentic Retrieval, Agent Quality and Evaluations, Tool/Skill Abstractions, and LLMOps. Additionally, you will accelerate the adoption and integration of the latest platform innovations from Google Cloud, Core, and Google DeepMind.

The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products. We are owners and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure at Google. These are the essential building blocks for excellent, safe, and coherent experiences for our users and drive the pace of innovation for every developer. We look across Google’s products to build central solutions, break down technical barriers and strengthen existing systems. As the Core team, we have a mandate and a unique opportunity to impact important technical decisions across the company.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $307000 - $428000 (USD) + 30% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Architect the convergence of Agentic AI frameworks, high-throughput data platforms, and third-party integrations.
  • Represent the pillar’s architectural outlook at enterprise-level councils, driving alignment across cross-functional engineering organizations.
  • Enforce rigorous compliance frameworks ensuring third-party data connectors and agent tools adhere to strict privacy boundaries, data sovereignty laws, and enterprise security policies.
  • Serve as the technical authority in pillar-level planning, capacity forecasting, and prioritization cycles.
  • Pioneer novel technical solutions (e.g., automated agents, self-healing systems) to reduce time-to-market.
