Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program or project management.
  • Experience creating go-to-market strategies.
  • Experience working with product marketing teams.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience working with various digital marketing channels in an e-commerce, gaming, or digital content business.
  • Experience working with a product/engineering team to launch new products, features or consumer programs for global companies.
  • Previous business planning or chief of staff responsibilities (e.g., Objectives and Key Results (OKRs), budget, Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR), etc.).
  • Strong understanding of program management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).

As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.

Google Play is at the heart of the Android ecosystem, providing the apps, games, and digital content that bring Android devices to life. The Play store serves more than 2.5B users across over 190 countries, and is a critical driver of Google’s overall business growth. Googlers working on the Play Go-To-Market (GTM) teams own content strategy and publishing within the Play Store across all regions and verticals (Apps, Games, and more).

As a Program Manager, you will work on a large portfolio of innovative products and programs such as new and engaging mechanics that can enhance user engagement while strengthening proven capabilities to improve scalability and robustness.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with all of the teams involved with Go-To-Market programs and tooling solutions including product marketing, product, engineering, finance, partnerships, operations, and more to create and execute GTM plans, manage launches, and scale the business.

Google Play offers music, movies, books, apps and games for devices, powered by the cloud. It syncs across devices and on the web. As part of the Android and Mobile team, Googlers working on Google Play do everything from engineering our backend systems, to shaping product strategy, to forming great content partnerships. They make it possible for people to do things like buy an ebook or song on their Android phone, then have it instantly available on their laptop. The Google Play team enhances the Android ecosystem by giving developers and partners a premium store where they can reach millions of users.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $159000 - $230000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for managing and delivering on a large portfolio of projects in various strategic areas for Play including (but not limited to) games and apps GTM, loyalty programs and new Play transformation or expansion programs.
  • Be responsible for the cross-functional coordination of GTM workstreams such as CRM strategy, branding, digital channel activation and amplification plans, Marketing / PR plan, tooling, partnerships, etc.
  • Develop strong partnerships with cross-functional stakeholders and partners to influence across boundaries leveraging solid thought leadership.
  • Identify and address opportunities to scale tooling/processes and optimize for efficiency across the organization. Drive recommendations through to implementation and results.
  • Lead effective meetings and communications to drive focused decision-making across global audiences ranging from steering committees to working groups.
