About the job

In gTech Users and Products (gUP), our mission is to advocate for Google’s users by creating helpful and trusted experiences across the product ecosystem. We achieve this by meeting partners and consumers where they are with support and help, representing their needs with our product partners and proposing fixes and features that elevate their engagement with Google's product ecosystem. Additionally we provide a range of product services that ensure our products are optimized for every user, no matter where they are in the world (e.g., localization, digitization, partner integration, and more).

As a Web Solutions Engineer, you will leverage the full software development life cycle to help the business intelligence group enable a more data-driven/predictive Global Affairs (GA) organization. By partnering directly with stakeholders, you will distill loosely defined business problems into scalable software solutions. GenAI is poised to make a significant impact in global affairs. Whether building long-lived production platforms or prototyping temporary applications, you will navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced environment to develop web applications that directly drive cross-GA strategic initiatives and enable AI-driven business decisions at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the design, development, deployment, and improvement of elegant, scalable, and modern full-stack web applications using standard and Google-specific software development tools, proposing new technical solutions which may include ensuring reliable backends, implementing responsive and User Experience (UX)-rich frontends, or enhancing the performance of existing tools and services.
  • Architect and optimize complex pipelines and back-ends to serve data, via representational state transfer application programming interface, anticipating future issues to build for scale.
  • Make critical technical contributions including writing and leading reviews for design documents, tests, and code using frameworks like Angular and React while identifying dependencies.
  • Lead the development and implementation of data driven web applications, with a focus on responsive front-end interfaces that connect users to LLM APIs, collaborating across teams to address complex business problems in global affairs.
