Computer Vision Software Engineer, Calibration and Spatial Sensing

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a similar technical field of study, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience programming in Python.

Preferred qualifications:

  • PhD degree or equivalent experience in one of the following areas: Computer vision, machine learning, sensor fusion, image processing, deep learning, simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM), sensor calibration, semantic perception.
  • Experience driving end-to-end development of computer vision systems from initial research to production-quality code landed in demos/products.
  • Experience developing high-performance computer vision systems for real-time applications on mobile platforms.
  • Track record of publications in computer vision or robotics.

lightweight XR devices like smart glasses and headsets pair with helpful AI to augment human intelligence, offering personalized, conversational, and contextually aware experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Develop foundational world-sensing technology that enables devices to track and understand their surroundings.
  • Optimize the performance of the world-sensing stack to enable precise spatial localization, potentially leveraging the visual positioning service (VPS) and multi-device sensor fusion to achieve sub-meter, real-time accuracy within a tight power budget.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements and drive end-to-end algorithmic design, while leading research initiatives to solve the most difficult skip to main content technical issues facing consumer XR devices on commodity hardware.
  • Focus on a large-scale localization and geospatial sensor fusion, design and implement next-generation components for spatial sensing and calibration.
