Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with programming in one or more programming languages.
- Experience working with administration (e.g., filesystems, inodes, system calls) or networking (e.g., TCP/IP, routing, network topologies and hardware, SDN).
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in Go.

Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) combines software and systems engineering to build and run large-scale, massively distributed, fault-tolerant systems. SRE ensures that Google Cloud's services—both our internally critical and our externally-visible systems—have reliability, uptime appropriate to customer's needs and a fast rate of improvement. Additionally SRE’s will keep an ever-watchful eye on our systems capacity and performance.
As a Site Reliability Engineer, you'll directly contribute to the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of the control systems that power Google Compute Engine, one of the core components of Google Cloud.
Responsibilities
- Streamline Google Compute Engine control plane software deployments and operational processes to enhance user experience.
- Create new tools or extend existing ones to help monitor production systems.
- Automate rollout or manage scaling for production systems.
- Contribute to the development of monitoring, testing, and alerting infrastructure to prevent potential outages.
- Utilize your developing software systems knowledge to troubleshoot technical issues, identify root causes, and implement solutions with guidance.
