Senior UX Program Manager, Search Ads

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of program management experience within design or UX organizations.
  • Experience with UX related projects and UX design, user research, or user centered development tools and methodologies.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with the product development lifecycle.
  • Experience analyzing data and leveraging insights to drive strategy.
  • Experience managing risks (e.g., operational, product, team health).
  • Experience collaborating with engineering and product management stakeholders to understand user issues.
  • Experience partnering with UX Research to inform research studies and amplify insights.

You will join our multi-disciplinary UX team, collaborating with Engineering and Product Management, to create industry-leading products based on user insights.

As a UX Program Manager, you will combine expert project management with a passion for user experience to improve the design of products used by billions. Your role is to plan projects, define milestones, assess risks, create actionable insights, and ensure deadlines are met. You will harmonize the work of various UX disciplines and cross-functional partners to drive team objectives and create innovative experiences.

As a Senior UX Program Manager, you will drive the execution and strategic operations of monetization within Google’s Search results pages. You will partner with UX disciplines, Product, and Engineering across Search Ads and Organic teams to ideate and execute on the future of some of the most visible elements of users interactions with Google, driving significant impact for the business.

Google Ads is helping power the open internet with the best technology that connects and creates value for people, publishers, advertisers, and Google. We’re made up of multiple teams, building Google’s Advertising products including search, display, shopping, travel and video advertising, as well as analytics. Our teams create trusted experiences between people and businesses with useful ads. We help grow businesses of all sizes from small businesses, to large brands, to YouTube creators, with effective advertiser tools that deliver measurable results. We also enable Google to engage with customers at scale.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $159000 - $230000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Scope, plan, and deliver programs that boost UX excellence in ads. Manage complex project lifecycles from concept to launch.
  • Drive consensus across functions (e.g., engineering, product, and organic search) on UX priorities, resources, and progress. Integrate varied perspectives to align stakeholders on Objectives and Key Results (OKRs).
  • Partner closely with UX Designers to guide file setup, mock updates, and stakeholder notifications for high-stakes reviews. Own and drive vendor partnerships, including opex and team/vendor operations.
  • Create and deliver impactful communications tailored to different audiences, from team updates to executive leadership reviews.
  • Leverage AI tools, processes, and methods to address resource, technical, or time limitations, improve deliverables, and align with team goals.
