About the job

Product and Business Strategy Leaders bring together teams across Google’s functions to help products execute optimally. Our team pushes Google to scale at key points that refine our products and infrastructure by executing efficiently, bringing solid business sense and sound judgment, and working effectively across organizational lines.

Our roles often include components of strategy (e.g. analyzing and understanding new trends in the industry, building business plans), operations (e.g. running the cadence of organizations, connecting the operating lines between our functions), and communications. Our team partners with senior leadership to run important functions that cross-cut our existing organizations and deliver high impact projects. We help Engineers, PMs, UX, and all of our other functions to build amazing products that delight our users, and then get those products into their hands.

As the Product Strategy and Operations Lead for Play Central Operations, you will support the operating rhythm that keeps Play leadership aligned, informed, and accountable. You will run the processes that connect strategy to execution across Play, including executive communications, OKR planning and tracking, and Joint Business Planning (JBP) with partner Product Areas (PAs) across Google. You will partner directly with Play leadership, their chiefs of staff, and cross-functional leads to shape priorities, surface risks, and make sure the organization focuses on the most impactful work.

You will sit at the center of Google Play, with visibility into the strategy and execution of the whole organization and regular exposure to Play and Google senior leadership. The role combines strategic thinking with operational ownership, and offers broad influence across many teams and Product Areas.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

  • Collaborate with the TPM lead to run the annual and quarterly goal setting, track progress and scoring, and flag risks and trade-offs to leadership.
  • Co-drive processes with Android. Align on shared goals, dependencies, and resourcing; keep accountability through regular checkpoints; and escalate issues to resolution.
  • Design, run, and keep improving the Play leadership operating cadence (e.g., staff meetings, business reviews, decision forums), so that decisions are made and recorded, and action items are followed through to completion.
  • Synthesize data and cross-functional inputs into insights and recommendations. Find inefficiencies in central processes and lead improvements that make operations scale better, including adopting AI tools where needed.
