Commercial Strategy and Operations Senior Associate

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics or a related field and 6 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a Commercial Strategy & Operations-related occupation.
  • Alternatively, will accept a Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics or a related field, and 4 years of experience in the job offered or in a Commercial Strategy & Operations-related occupation.
  • Position requires 4 years of experience in the following:
    • Strategic business analysis, including market analysis or evaluation of business models and KPIs

    • Root cause analysis of ambiguous business problems

    • Data analysis, including creating complex data sets, data modeling, and strategic reporting

    • Presenting data-driven recommendations to senior leadership or executive influencing.

    • Project management of multi-stakeholder initiatives, including risk mitigation.

The Global Business Strategy and Operations (GBS&O) team is responsible for providing insightful review, perspective and direction on the strategy and operating performance of Google’s Global Business Organization (GBO). Our mission is to architect and accelerate the transformation of GBO and our partners across Ads. GBS&O is part of the Global Go-to-Market (GTM) organization that ensures Google's complex business is pursuing the best strategy and executing flawlessly. Team members are experts in business strategy and operations - analytical and strategic, yet highly pragmatic and results-oriented.


The US base salary range for this full-time position is $169,550 - $222,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Position reports to the Google New York, NY office & may allow for a hybrid schedule as per Google policy.


The Global Business Organization (GBO) is the engine that powers Google’s full ecosystem of products and services to help customers and partners succeed and grow. GBO includes the commercial arms of Ads sellers, business development teams, and customer services and support, as well as overlay programs that enable coordinated engagement with Google's most complex and important customers and partners.

Responsibilities

  • Define comprehensive business strategies by performing in-depth analysis of market trends and competitive landscapes to solve complex challenges and drive growth.
  • Synthesize actionable insights from sophisticated business modeling and data analysis to develop hypotheses and inform strategic recommendations for leadership.
  • Lead the successful implementation of large-scale change initiatives by creating actionable plans, defining project scope, and aligning cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Design and manage operational cadences, processes, and programs to establish strong business rigor and improve organizational effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Deliver persuasive, data-driven presentations and strategic narratives to influence executive stakeholders and secure buy-in for recommended courses of action. Cultivate trusted partnerships with cross-functional teams and key stakeholders to champion business objectives and ensure collaborative execution on critical programs.
