  • Experience in user experience research and ophthalmic optics, including a strong understanding of ophthalmic terminology, lens measurements, prescription interpretation, and optical measurements and equipment.
  • Experience in consumer electronics, or wearables technologies.
  • Familiarity with hardware development cycles and processes.

As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.

As a Clinical Program Manager at Google, you will work with stakeholders to deliver on clinical outcomes and manage device use in alignment with clinical compliance requirements. You will plan study requirements with internal engineering teams and usher user evaluations through the entire product lifecycle. This includes managing Institutional Review Board (IRB) compliance, coordinating laboratory workflows, and communicating with project stakeholders.

You will be responsible for driving the day-to-day operations and logistics of clinical studies, serving as the primary liaison between study sites, managers, and regulatory bodies. Key duties include managing IRB submissions, maintaining the Trial Master File (TMF) to ensure GCP compliance, and coordinating the distribution of investigational devices and study supplies. Additionally, this role oversees subject enrollment tracking, monitors Case Report Form (CRF) data quality, and ensure all participant data, informed consent forms (ICFs), and Adverse Event (AE) reporting are accurate, legible, and fully compliant with ALCOA+ source documentation principles inside the Trial Master File (TMF).

The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $132000 - $189000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day ophthalmic Rx program and device logistics and Collaborate with cross-functional partners including Clinical, Research Scientists, UX Researchers, Hardware/Software Engineering, and Regulatory to track program and study requirements, maintain schedules, and monitor study-readiness and compliance criteria.
  • Manage study workflows by coordinating human subject test execution, managing evaluation logistics, and supervising clinical participant and laboratory logistics alongside research scientists and program stakeholders.
  • Identify risks, blockers, and changing timelines early (such as recruitment bottlenecks, site enrollment delays, or regulatory hurdles), working alongside Program and Clinical Leads to triage operational issues.
  • Contribute to team operational excellence by supporting clear clinical program tracking mechanism.
  • Manage administrative and operational program overhead, including compiling resource demands, drafting program-related status reports.
