Web Solutions Engineer, gUP Distribution Technology

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math or a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience in software development.
  • 4 years of experience in full-stack software development and system design.
  • Experience with front-end languages (e.g., JavaScript or TypeScript).
  • Experience with backend languages (e.g. Java, Python, or C++).
  • Experience working with database technologies (e.g. SQL, NoSQL).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
  • 4 years of experience designing and optimizing distributed applications.
  • 2 years of experience collaborating with team and business stakeholders on project requirements.
  • Experience with unit testing, agile software development, and bug and change management systems.
  • Experience designing and building maintainable APIs, especially using Protocol Buffers.

The Distribution Engineering team is part of the gTech Web and Search Ecosystems team supporting Chrome and Google Search's goal of healthy, vibrant web in this increasingly agentic world. We're a group of technical experts developing technologies to distribute effectively Google's Products. By building reliable monetization platforms for Google and our partners, we aim to accelerate their reach to new users through partnerships.

As a Web Solutions Engineer for gTech Users and Products (gUP) Distribution Technology, you will design, develop, enhance and maintain our distribution platforms to support more Google products to be distributed via our Partners, and scale the platform to run at Google scale.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $128000 - $184000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Drive feature changes using data-driven insights by analyzing large data sets on users' behaviors to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Optimize front-end code and tools to meet user needs by working with engineers to refine code and tools, and ensuring that they are correct and appropriate for user needs.
  • Identify, recommend, and prioritize new web features and applications by working with business leaders and product managers to understand user needs, and developing plans for new features and applications.
  • Work with cross-team stakeholders to understand the user experience by conducting user research, and working with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure that the user experience is optimized.
