Product Technology Manager, Shopping Partner Engineering and APIs

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience working with client-side web technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or HTTP).
  • 3 years of experience coding with one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, C/C++, Python).
  • 3 years of experience designing, integrating, or supporting external-facing APIs (e.g., REST, RPC, or SOAP).
  • Experience troubleshooting technical issues for internal/external partners or customers.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience managing projects or programs.
  • 5 years of experience in a consulting or client-facing role.
  • 5 years of experience in operations management (e.g., process improvement, operational reviews, optimizing workflows, etc.).
  • Experience working with database technologies (e.g., SQL, NoSQL).
  • Experience working with AI-driven product features or ML models within e-commerce, digital advertising, or API ecosystems.

gTech’s Professional Services team takes a creative, collaborative, and customer-centric approach to provide foundational services and forward-looking business solutions to top advertiser and publisher customers. Through technical implementation, optimization, and key solutions, gTech Professional Services helps customers attain their business goals while building long-term capabilities.

This role is in the gUP Shopping Partner Engineering team, focused on supporting our API ecosystem for Shopping. We work on Universal Commerce Protocol, Google Business Profile and Google Merchant Center integrations, which power consumer experiences on Google Shopping and many other surfaces.

Our team works with retail partnerships to achieve ambitious plans to grow the value merchants and users get from Google, while ensuring high data quality. We closely collaborate with Engineering and Product teams to develop and improve Google’s products and tools. We are advocates of the customer and partner experience, advocating for features and offering product and tools improvements backed by data-driven insights.

As a Product Technology Manager (PTM), you will partner with the Product Managers/Engineering team, Product Operations Managers and Global Sales and Partnerships teams to oversee the technical execution of Google's Commerce products from design and conceptualization to testing and deployment to drive customer/partner adoption and success.

You will be the interface between the Product Management, Engineering and Global Sales and Partnerships. From conceptualization and early piloting to wide-scale deployment, you will work on developing product and technical strategy as well as prioritizing projects and resources to execute the initiatives that assist our customers and partners.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Ireland: €90000 - €92500 (EUR) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Guarantee the technical aspects of a customer/partner’s integration (both new and ongoing) by providing technical guidance and necessary documentation.
  • Provide high touch technical subject matter expertise with strategic partners for partner education, technical troubleshooting, and support within defined service level agreements.
  • Work with Product Managers and Partner Operations Managers to define and prioritize new product features and tools requests required to improve processes and performance.
  • Perform implementation reviews, advocate new product features, and ensure the prompt and proper resolution of technical challenges.
  • Develop technical tools and documentation to expedite partner implementation, and improve operational scaling and product serviceability with Engineering.
