Principal Architect, Retail and eCommerce

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in enterprise architecture, technical solutions, or technical management consulting.
  • 5 years of experience architecting and delivering distributed cloud, data, or Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) solutions.
  • Experience in the Retail, CPG, or eCommerce industry.
  • Experience with engaging, advising, and collaborating with C-level executives on technology investments and multi-year transformation initiatives.
  • Ability to travel regionally to customer sites and industry events as required.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business Administration (MBA), or other relevant advanced degree.
  • Industry-recognised professional cloud certifications.
  • Prior experience as Principal/Chief Architect driving multi-million dollar cloud transformations
  • Practical experience architecting Generative AI, RAG, and agentic workflows (e.g., Vertex AI, Gemini).
  • Hands-on experience with Lakehouses, real-time streaming (e.g., Pub/Sub, Kafka), BigQuery, and Data Clean Rooms for Retail Industry.
  • Deep expertise in composable commerce (MACH), GKE microservices, modern POS/OMS, and retail ERP integrations (e.g., SAP S/4HANA on Google Cloud, Cortex Framework).

Responsibilities

  • Act as the lead technical expert and executive advisor for Google Cloud's most strategic Retail, Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), and eCommerce customers across Southeast Asia and Asia-Pacific (APAC).
  • Combine visionary enterprise architecture with executive business strategy to deliver high-impact, hybrid solutions.
  • Partner with APAC retail C-level leaders including Chief Information Officers (CIOs), Chief Technology Officer (CTOs), Chief Data Officers (CDOs), Chief Marketing Officers (CMOs), and Chief Supply Chain Officers and Chief Architects to translate business imperatives like supply chain agility, omnichannel unification, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) experiences into robust cloud blueprints.
