Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 1 year of experience in program management.
Preferred qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in engineering or other related technical fields.
- Experience in mapping technologies and or mapping operations.
- Track record of defining measurements and data quality metrics.
- Data analytics skills and experience in data management.
- Process improvement skills, lean, six sigma and agile experience.
- Strong technical and business acumen with an ability to solve data and operational problems with machine learning and artificial intelligence technologies.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.
The Geo team is focused on building the most accurate, comprehensive, and useful maps for our users, through products like Maps, Earth, Street View, Google Maps Platform, and more. Every month, more than a billion people rely on Maps services to explore the world and navigate their daily lives.
The Geo team also enables developers to use the power of Google Maps platforms to enhance their apps and websites. As they plot a course for the future of mapping, they are solving complex computer science problems, designing beautiful and intuitive product experiences, and improving our understanding of the real world.
Responsibilities
- Manage large technical projects from concept to launch, develop and coordinate realistic project estimates, plans, or metrics; work and communicate effectively with engineering, product management, QA, operations and other stakeholders.
- Understand Google Geo products, internal tools, processes and data schema and leverage those to push automation and increase work efficiency and automation.
- Develop technical solutions that help automate and improve operational efficiencies.
- Leverage technical acumen and developer skills to analyze trends in date, develop data pipeline improvements and elegant technical solutions.
- Build scalable and intelligent technical and operational solutions to produce large volumes of high quality data that powers Google Maps.
