Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in program management.
  • Experience in security, privacy, compliance or risk management.
  • Experience with internal stakeholder management.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience in managing complex projects that span multiple stakeholders and with tight deadlines.
  • Experience in developing or deploying new and emerging AI/ML technologies to support team effectiveness.
  • Experience in the space of privacy, risk management or regulatory compliance work, with the ability to resolve critical escalations.
  • Ability to influence others without authority.
  • Excellent collaboration, information gathering, and strategic decision making skills.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

The mission for Google Commerce is to be an essential part of the shopping journey for consumers - from inspiration to to a simple and secure checkout experience - and the best place for retailers/merchants to connect with consumers. We support and partner with the commerce ecosystem, from large retailers to small local merchants, to give them the tools, technology and scale to thrive in today’s digital world.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $138,000-$198,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Own processes and operations for Shopping’s Privacy Working Group (PWG). Work with our privacy engineers to identify and implement process improvements in support of the best privacy outcomes for shopping users. Roll out the latest AI innovations to enhance our work and productivity.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and metrics to monitor and measure the team’s performance. Prepare communications with stakeholders and leaders, providing insights, highlighting trends, and identifying risks.
  • Run projects to enhance shopping’s privacy stance, both for our product lineup and for our technical infrastructure, ensuring clear communication, stakeholder alignment, and timely delivery.
  • Be the main point of contact for shopping compliance audits, disseminating audit requirements and ensuring alignment and smooth audit execution across the organization.
  • Oversee controls, including following up with control owners and operators to ensure timely execution and effectiveness.
