Central Government Academic Engagement Representative, Google for Education (Japanese, English)

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience in program management, consulting, government relations/public affairs, business development, or a related field within the public or education sector.
  • Experience engaging with, presenting to, and building relationships with external stakeholders (e.g., government officials, academic leaders, or C-level contacts).
  • Ability to communicate in Japanese and English fluently to interact with internal and external stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in driving cross-functional projects or strategic initiatives involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience in executing market creation strategies, policy advocacy, and thought leadership programs.
  • Experience managing public-private partnerships or change-management initiatives at a national level.
  • Understanding of the Japanese education sector, including national policies (e.g., MEXT), budgets, and decision-making processes.
  • Excellent strategic thinking and negotiation skills to construct engaging justifications and collaborate with global stakeholders.
  • Passion for AI, machine learning, and their transformative impact on education.

Google for Education supports institutions, teachers, and students in transforming learning through technology, especially AI.

You will focus on strategic relationship building with Key Opinion Formers (KOFs) in government and academia. These initiatives will foster a proactive, winning market environment for Gemini and Google products nationwide.

This entrepreneurial role requires deep passion for education, understanding of AI and cloud solutions, and the ability to drive large-scale strategic initiatives. Your primary objective is to demonstrate the transformative value of Gemini for teaching, learning, and research across Japan. You will build strategic relationships with critical stakeholders, including government officials, policymakers, and prominent academic leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Engage Key Opinion Formers (KOFs) to shape educational policies, budgets, and road maps, driving Google for Education and Gemini adoption nationwide.
  • Strengthen alliances with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and deploy joint pilot projects to scale educational practices.
  • Build strategic ecosystem partnerships with sector stakeholders to drive national product adoption and act as a thought leader.
  • Synthesize policy trends, market needs, and KOF feedback to influence Go-To-Market strategies and maximize overall business impact.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional internal teams to ensure an aligned strategy for maximizing national educational impact.
