The Environmental Capabilities (EC) team tackles climate change by developing reusable capabilities that serve multiple product areas and use cases, like Google Maps Platform, and 1P/2P Google consumer platforms (e.g., Search, Google Maps, Pixel). Our goal is to maximize impact and drive widespread adoption of sustainable practices, empowering individuals, businesses, and tech innovators alike to create a healthier future.

The EC Weather Serving team productize Google’s weather forecasting models and serves them to businesses and enterprise customers and their end users. We collaborate closely with teams across Google to drive maximum impact and help our customers prepare for and adapt to weather-related hazards and extreme weather.

The Geo team is focused on building the most accurate, comprehensive, and useful maps for our users, through products like Maps, Earth, Street View, Google Maps Platform, and more. Every month, more than a billion people rely on Maps services to explore the world and navigate their daily lives.

The Geo team also enables developers to use the power of Google Maps platforms to enhance their apps and websites. As they plot a course for the future of mapping, they are solving complex computer science problems, designing beautiful and intuitive product experiences, and improving our understanding of the real world.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, research, etc.) to understand user needs and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
  • Own the development life cycle of features, from design and implementation to deployment and monitoring.
  • Review code developed by other developers and provide constructive feedback.
