Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in program management.
Preferred qualifications:
- Deep understanding of how AI models are built, including evaluating datasets and open-source licenses for compliance criteria.
- Demonstrated ability to meticulously record compliance data and maintain audit-ready logs.
- Ability to navigate through ambiguity, adapt program strategies as priorities change, and maintain momentum.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the assertiveness and confidence to stand your ground and influence senior leaders across legal, policy, compliance, and engineering organizations.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.
Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage projects of various size and scope, identifying future opportunities, improving processes and driving the technical directions of your programs.
The DM Technical Compliance Team is a dedicated, centralized function that bridges operational execution and independent oversight. Our mission is to ensure Google DeepMind builds AI responsibly by implementing robust controls and overseeing a technical compliance function focused on regulatory compliance and data governance.

Responsibilities
- Drive large-scale, high-priority, cross-functional technical compliance programs, ensuring organizational readiness for critical global regulations.
- Collaborate with AI engineering, legal, risk, and regulatory leadership to align interpretations, manage risks, and translate requirements into actionable roadmaps.
- Leverage a deep understanding of DeepMind's models, products, and systems to effectively execute technical compliance initiatives.
- Act as a strategic bridge to decode complex legal and regulatory concepts for engineering teams, while explaining engineering realities to legal stakeholders.
- Partner with the DM Compliance Lead and engineering to design the scalable infrastructure and unified monitoring tools needed to automate and optimize compliance efficiency.
