Customer Engineer, Outcome, Google Cloud

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience with cloud-native architecture in a customer-facing, support, or delivery role.
  • Experience in deployment planning, orchestration, or change management.
  • Experience in programming languages, debugging, or systems design.
  • Experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with enterprise API management platforms, API gateways, or API orchestration frameworks (e.g., Apigee, MuleSoft, or similar industry tools).
  • Experience promoting or implementing technical solutions in core areas such as Infrastructure Modernization (Inframod), Application Modernization, cloud networking, or enterprise migrations.
  • Experience with object-oriented programming languages (such as Python or Java) and utilizing technical proficiencies to remove complex product blocks.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning model deployments to support modern applications.

As an Outcome Customer Engineer, you will play a critical role in our customers' post-sales journey, accelerating the technical delivery and onboarding phases to transition scoped customer workloads into production. Your work will impact the deployment velocity and consumption of strategic customer workloads, helping enterprise organizations realize the maximum value of their Google Cloud investment faster.

In this specific role, you will be the technical lead for API management and orchestration, with a primary focus on Apigee (EPD), which is our core engine for API orchestration. You will employ coding, debugging, and systems design skills to resolve implementation roadblocks, connect modern cloud runtimes with monolithic application legacy processes, and design high-performance integrations.

You will utilize modernization expertise and Artificial Intelligence to facilitate the management of API environments, customer systems, and applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional account teams and technical specialists to ensure that our customers continuously scale their product usage, establish daily active habits, and successfully adopt our advanced toolsets.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and orchestrate enterprise-grade API ecosystems, leveraging Google Cloud's API management solutions (Apigee/EPD) to bridge the gap between monolithic processes and modern, cloud-native services.
  • Develop and coordinate a structured deployment plan across customer and partner teams, onboarding implementation teams, clearing blockers, and ensuring operational readiness.
  • Employ coding, debugging, or systems design to resolve technical blockers and accelerate deployment timelines.
  • Drive and track the progress of workload ramp-ups, moving customers from agreement to active consumption as quickly and securely as possible.
  • Drive product usage to help customers continuously realize quantifiable business value on an ongoing basis to secure future contract renewals.
