Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 6 years of experience with IP networking, routing protocols, and network connectivity.
- Experience in network operations, troubleshooting, and infrastructure.
- Experience with Python and coding for automation.
- Experience with cloud networking, fiber optics, and transport networks.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience troubleshooting hardware and software on large-scale IP/MPLS networks.
- Experience with one or more scripting languages (e.g., Python).
- Experience analyzing business processes and creating data-driven recommendations for improvement.
- Experience with network routing and switching at scale, as well as IP network infrastructures and protocols.
- Experience with Software-Defined Networking (SDN), including control plane, data plane, and management plane.

As a Network Engineer in the Google Global Networking (GGN) team, you will work with other network engineers and technology teams in Google to identify and mitigate risks and ensure the smooth operation of core networking systems and platforms on the Google production network.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.US: $150000 - $217000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities
- Create workflow, network monitoring, and troubleshooting automation to improve the network.
- Debug complex issues and determine root causes for incidents impacting the network and customers.
- Develop, debug, and mitigate risk profiles to maintain optimal network health.
- Lead improvements in documentation, playbooks, and training for support organizations.
- Work with network design, deployment, and engineering teams to operationalize stable, scalable platforms.
