Business Finance Analyst, Market Intelligence, APAC

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Accounting, or another quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in investment banking, equity research, Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), corporate finance, commercial strategy, or a related analytical function, or an advanced degree.
  • Experience with SQL, data manipulation, reporting, and quantitative analysis.
  • Experience in financial modeling, corporate earnings analysis, and developing commercial insights.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience developing automated BI dashboards, data pipelines, and integrating AI toolsets into financial analysis workflows.
  • Track record of building trusted partnerships with cross-functional leaders and comfortably delivering constructive, data-backed pushback in high-stakes discussions with executive presentation skills.
  • Background in sell-side or buy-side equity research, investment banking, or management consulting with focus on technology, media, or consumer sectors.
  • Strong familiarity with digital advertising industry dynamics, media measurement, Advertising Expenditure (AdEx) metrics, and customer Share of Wallet (SoW) frameworks.
  • Proven ability to analyze corporate 10-K/10-Q filings, earnings call transcripts, and macroeconomic indicators to assess commercial headwinds and tailwinds.

As a Financial Analyst, your work, whether it's modeling business scenarios or tracking performance metrics, is used by our leaders to make strategic company decisions. Working on multiple projects at a time, you are focused on the details while finding creative ways to take on big picture challenges.

As someone who knows the workings of the core Finance team inside and out, you'll lead individual projects to transform planning, tracking and control processes. You'll provide senior level management with insightful recommendations, planning and reporting support.

Business Finance is part of Google’s Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) organization, providing financial and analytical support to Google’s business organization. Our work is integral to the strategic decision-making and operations of the commercial teams across all our advertising products. From understanding market and usage trends to exploring the productivity and return of our various investments, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the commercial leaders.

As a Business Finance Analyst, Markket Intelligence, within the APAC Central Intelligence and Analytics (CIA) team, you serve as the central commercial radar, market intelligence backbone, and cross-product synthesizer. You act as a regional orchestrator and strategic challenger ensuring leadership has an objective, data-backed understanding of performance and the wider macroeconomic landscape. You empower regional and global leadership with proactive insights needed for long-term growth and informed decision-making.

From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.

Responsibilities

  • Own the APAC Digital Advertising Market Sizing (AdEx) and Share of Wallet (SoW) models. Ensure sizing accuracy, establish standardized methodologies, and drive cross-functional alignment across all stakeholders.
  • Partner with sub-regional and market finance teams to review, pressure-test, and vet market estimates, growth assumptions, and engaging points of view, challenging constructively and in a data-driven manner.
  • Maintain continuous pulse on the external business environment, actively tracking APAC macroeconomic indicators, industry shifts, and financial performance, earnings releases, and news of major regional customers.
  • Lead evolution and modernization of the regional commercial fact pack, establishing regular cadences across product areas to translate fragmented performance data into a unified, executive-ready "One Google" narrative.
  • Build and maintain scalable SQL data pipelines and interactive BI dashboards, integrating market intelligence with internal performance telemetry, leveraging AI-driven workflow tools to streamline deliverables.
