Accountant, Devices and Services Controllership

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA).
  • 4 years of experience in accounting or a related function, or 1 year with an advanced degree in accounting, business, or finance.
  • Experience with Accounting Principles (IFRS and US GAAP).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience implementing projects, managing programs, designing and implementing processes/controls.
  • Experience working cross-functionally among teams and business groups.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment and to lead and drive complex operational initiatives.
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to communicate effectively with senior management.
  • Collaborative working style and ability to work with vendors and international teams.
  • Track record of aligning multiple stakeholders who may have competing objectives to make a decision that is in the best interest of Google.

Google accountants are a savvy bunch who handle the core accounting responsibilities at Google. You know your accounting principles and the full accounting process end to end. You'll advise on financial reports required by governmental regulations, and review, analyze, and interpret financial and budgetary reports. Every day is a new challenge, and you're continually looking for ways to help our team become more efficient and effective. This role supports the APAC Devices & Services Controllership team in the oversight and management of financial processes for the product area. As a key player on the APAC Business Controllership team, you will partner closely with cross-functional and cross-finance stakeholders. You will drive cross-functional alignment and support controls and risk management practices. You will also harness your business acumen and risk management creativity to craft and implement controls, measuring and mitigating risk.

Responsibilities

  • Own and be accountable for accuracy, timeliness, effectiveness and efficiency of processes related to controllership for devices & services (e.g., review of contracts, month-end close, revenue, deferred revenue, accounts receivables, P&L and B/S analytics, balance sheet reconciliations, etc.).
  • Collaborate with global business finance/controllership teams to ensure consistency and efficiency.
  • Ensure cross-finance readiness for devices & services product initiatives in APAC, providing jurisdictional expertise, and partner with key stakeholders for successful implementation/launch for various Pixel markets.
  • Assist and contribute cross-functional business and governance projects. Define, implement, and maintain processes and procedures.
