Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience in product design for consumer electronics.
- 5 years of experience using computer-aided design (CAD) tools such as NX, Creo, or Solidworks.
Preferred qualifications:
- 8 years of experience in consumer product design.
- Experience shipping multiple consumer products in a lead or senior engineer role, and deep technical knowledge in multiple manufacturing methods used in consumer products.
- Experience with higher cosmetic standard products and working with industry design.
- Experience collaborating with suppliers around the world on part manufacturing and final assembly, including onsite factory support.
- System integration experience, including electro-mechanical components (audio, display, camera, antenna, etc.), waterproofing, thermals, grounding, or product architecture.
- Work closely with external partners to support technology deployment and product development, with expertise in NX and team center.

Responsibilities
- Design complex subsystems or multiple individual parts from concept to production, including fixtures to enable automation of high precision assembly processes.
- Collaborate with JDM teams supporting part design, and collaborate with suppliers of subsystems or individual parts throughout the design and manufacturing process.
- Drive end-to-end discussions on system assembly process, prototyping, equipment and tooling needs for high precision assembly.
- Identify the root cause of design, manufacturing, or reliability issues and develop corrective actions.
- Design for technical depth and innovative ideas. Solve issues associated with the product development path using creativity and smart designs.
