Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 12 years of experience in advertising sales, digital marketing, consulting, or media.
  • 3 years of experience in people management.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in managing and developing sales teams to deliver results with a shared insight and purpose.
  • Experience influencing executive-level clients and stakeholders and driving results in complex, agile environments.
  • Leadership experience in sales/operations management, planning, and systems thinking, with the ability to align strategies and deliver customer business outcomes.
  • Understanding of customer business objectives and ability to develop joint business plans in complex, ambiguous environments.
  • Knowledge of Google Ad Solutions, video advertising (e.g., AI-powered Performance, CTV, AI-powered Video) and the key engaged landscape across traditional and digital brand media advertising.

As the Head Of Industry (HOI) for Retail, you will lead and strengthen a sales team focused on one of the largest Retail accounts in the region. Leadership entails inspiring the team with a compelling goal for how we can identify client business issues in order to deliver unparalleled value to our customers.

You’ll run the day-to-day operations for your team by setting clear goals and helping them clear roadblocks. You will collaborate effectively with fellow managers, partner with sales leadership to set objectives for the vertical, and build strong relationships across the Google network.

Actively engaged with local clients and agencies, you will build the business and develop a reputation for thought leadership and industry change within the landscape, all while demonstrating how Google products can enhance and transform their businesses.

We focus on helping these players navigate profound industry shifts and drive outsized business performance by competitively selling Google's full suite of advertising solutions across Search, YouTube, Measurement, and more. As a member of our LCS team, you'll have the unique opportunity to sell at the forefront of technology, collaborating with executives, influencing market-shaping strategies, and delivering tangible results that significantly impact major global businesses and drive the growth of Google.Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $201000 - $281000 (USD) + 75% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Manage the core sales team and engage with cross-functional teams to deliver insights, innovative ideas, and customer service that drives business growth for our customer and for Google.
  • Develop and foster C-Level relationships (e.g., CEOs, CMOs, RMN Pres) across the portfolio, acting as a trusted advisor in their digital transformation and retail media journeys.
  • Partner with leaders of other teams to develop thought leadership around the Industry ecosystem, equipping teams across Large Customer Sales to deliver excellent business growth and navigate industry shifts.
  • Attract, develop, and retain top talent in all roles across the team, fostering a culture of continuous learning, and deep expertise in the retail sector.
  • Analyze data trends, consumer behavior, and client performance capitalizing on key moments to develop and deliver on high-impact plans.
