Manager, Global Advocacy Campaigns, Government Affairs and Public Policy

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in public affairs, issue advocacy, corporate advocacy, political campaigns, or communications.
  • Experience leading multi-market advocacy, marketing, or public awareness campaigns.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience designing scalable advocacy strategies and adapting campaign executions across regions, balancing global message discipline with local political and cultural context.
  • Ability to convert dense technical, economic, or regulatory topics into compelling narratives, deploying non-traditional advocacy formats, digital assets, and creative partnerships that cut through noise.
  • Demonstrated ability to build consensus across matrixed cross-functional teams and mobilize external partners, including industry associations, think tanks, and civil society leaders.
  • Demonstrated success running high-stakes political or issue campaigns, preferably in technology or regulatory policy.
  • Fluency across modern campaign levers, including opinion research, paid and earned media, and impact analytics.

Google’s Government Affairs and Public Policy (GAPP) team is seeking an exceptional political strategist and executor to manage global campaigns. In this role, you will build and drive the campaigns that support Google’s long-term policy priorities translating complex tech issues into compelling narratives, creative formats, and targeted initiatives that empower our teams across the world and move key audiences.

You will understand what influences decision-makers and the cultural and media currents around them, and you will bring the operational creative goal to match the right tactics to the right moments.

To succeed, you will bring sharp political and corporate acumen, with proven experience operating within complex, fast-moving, matrixed environments.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $181000 - $247000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Design campaigns that translate corporate policy priorities into measurable objectives, clear messaging, stakeholder maps, and actionable roadmaps.
  • Drive end-to-end execution of global campaigns alongside internal teams and agency partners.
  • Establish clear workstreams, milestones, budgets, and reporting frameworks to assess performance and iterate over time.
  • Develop persuasive, research-based narratives and content, ensuring messages reach key stakeholders via the most effective messengers, channels, and moments.
  • Enable partners internal and external to communicate effectively and consistently by developing and distributing toolkits, cross-format content, and message assets that help narratives break through in a crowded environment.
