Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Certified in Toyota Production System (TPS) Practitioner, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt, PMP, or similar.
  • 8 years of experience in program or project management.
  • 8 years of experience in operations, process improvement, or related fields.
  • 5 years of experience in leadership roles.
  • Experience implementing TPS/Lean/Six Sigma.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 8 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience in change management.
  • Experience in problem-solving and data-driven decision-making.
  • Knowledge of operational excellence tools (e.g., value stream mapping, LSW, Kaizen, 5S, DMAIC).
  • Ability to influence at all organizational levels and build cross-functional partnerships.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and strategic thinking.

As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.

The mission of the Operations Quality, Improvement Transformation team is to drive operational excellence, quality, and transformation across Operations core areas by embedding a culture of continuous improvement, waste elimination, and scientific problem-solving. We achieve this by optimizing processes, establishing standardization, developing human capability through lean methodologies, leveraging performance data for measurable results, and collaborating cross-functionally to align operations with strategic business goals.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $189,000-$274,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement operational excellence strategies aligned with business goals and team Objectives and Key Results (OKR’s).
  • Lead and ideate portfolios of improvement projects with operations leaders, proactively engage stakeholders, maintain master schedules, and ensure execution of initiatives that deliver measurable results, drive waste elimination and meet urgent business needs (e.g., cost savings, cycle time reduction, higher customer satisfaction).
  • Establish flow and implement leveling techniques and visual management to create smooth, predictable operations. Reduce lead times, improve inventory turns, and align operations tightly with actual customer demand.
  • Identify existing customer impacting process gaps and improve them, or create new processes that improve our operations or a key element.
  • Set the goal and priorities for improvement initiatives, partner with executive leadership for long-term planning, and deploy Google Cloud Logistics (GCL) strategies while collaborating across departments.
