About the job

As a YouTube Social Strategist, Marketing, you will be dedicated to YouTube as a platform, and will serve as the strategic operator behind the official/YouTube flagship channel and its 45M+ subscriber community. Representing the YouTube Brand and Social team, you will lead day-to-day channel optimization, audience development, and data-driven programming strategy representing YouTube the brand natively to viewers and creators worldwide on our own platform.

We are looking for a hungry, platform-obsessed practitioner who treats YouTube channel growth as a craft and lives inside YouTube Studio. You will bring creator-forward excellence to our flagship channel by dissecting retention curves, browse and suggested traffic patterns, click-through rates, and returning-viewer cohorts to unlock organic momentum across the YouTube platform. You will own the channel's programming rhythm and post-publish optimization loops while partnering closely with internal teams and external production partners. You will serve as the analytical architect at the pre-greenlight and pre-upload gates, shaping title and thumbnail packaging, diagnosing hook pacing, linking Shorts to long-form VODs, and compounding back-catalog viewership. You will also actively test and apply AI tools built into YouTube Studio and Google Workspace to sharpen insights, speed up packaging and research workflows, and keep execution optimized toward team goals.

You have earned your stripes scaling YouTube channels inside fast-paced creator teams, digital-first studios, or YouTube growth consultancies. You will combine relentless curiosity with deep technical command of how content earns discovery, watch time, and fandom natively on YouTube as YouTube.

  • Develop and manage the YouTube programming calendar on YouTube, orchestrating publishing cadence and native platform cross-linking across long-form VOD (Video on Demand), shorts, collabs, and posts.
  • Analyze YouTube Analytics retention curves, CTR, browse and suggested discovery, and viewer cohorts to diagnose platform performance drivers and guide programming decisions.
  • Partner with internal producers and creative studios to enforce data-backed greenlight gates, supplying YouTube packaging briefs and feedback without leading video production.
  • Execute ongoing YouTube back-catalog audits, packaging refreshes, and creator-ecosystem benchmarks, delivering organic channel performance readouts to editorial leadership and cross-functional partners.
