Customer Engineer, Infrastructure Modernization Specialist (English, Japanese)

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience planning infrastructure modernization as a technical consultant, technical pre-sales engineer, or enterprise architect.
  • Experience in one of the following: cloud migration, data center migration, disaster recovery, virtualization, or application/servers assessment/discovery.
  • Experience leading IT discussions and designing cloud adoption plans.
  • Experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders.
  • Ability to communicate in English and Japanese fluently to support client relationship management in this region.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • Experience architecting and implementing solutions on any public cloud as an enterprise architect or IT infrastructure consultant.
  • Experience with Linux or Windows system administration or enterprise applications.
  • Understanding of virtualization and networking concepts (e.g., Linux, hypervisors, network virtualization, open protocols, application acceleration and load balancing, DNS, virtual private networks) and their application to PaaS and IaaS technologies.
  • Understanding of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning concepts.

As a Platform Customer Engineer (CE), you will partner with technical Sales teams to differentiate Google Cloud to the customers. You will serve as the customer’s primary technical partner and trusted advisor, engaging in technical-led conversations. You will troubleshoot technical questions and roadblocks, engage in proofs of concepts and demos, and use your expertise to architect cross-pillar cloud solutions that solve business challenges. You will drive the technical win and define the delivery and consumption plans. You will use your business acumen and presentation skills to engage with technical and business leaders, present solutions on Google Cloud.

You will identify, pursue, and win new business workloads and drive engagement within existing ones. You will have technical expertise, spanning infrastructure modernization, application modernization, data analytics and more. You will blend business expertise, market knowledge and direct technical engagement to prove the value of the Google Cloud portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Inspire customers and peers to solve problems with novel solutions, leveraging a set of technical competences.
  • Manage the Go-to-Market strategy from a technical perspective. Craft the strategy to transform the customers, identify customer technical objections, and develop a strategy to resolve technical blockers.
  • Work with customers to demonstrate and prototype Google Cloud product integrations in customer/partner environments. Help the Account team to close agreements from a technical perspective.
  • Recommend migration strategies, enterprise architectures, migration tools, and cloud infrastructure required to complete solutions using on Google Cloud.
  • Travel to customer sites, conferences, and other related events, as needed.
