About the job

Google's projects, like our users, span the globe and require managers to keep the big picture in focus while being able to dive into the unique engineering challenges we face daily. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.

Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage various Engineering-specific programs and teams.

As a Technical Program Management (TPM) Lead for Google Search Observability and Reliability, you will lead a team of TPMs managing strategic programs across large-scale, mission-critical infrastructure. Google Search manages billions of queries daily; our team ensures Search infrastructure remains exceptionally reliable, highly observable, and fast during rapid AI transitions.

In this role, you will partner with Engineering Directors across an organization of engineers to define multi-quarter roadmaps and resolve complex distributed systems dependencies. You will drive core reliability programs, including next-generation AI serving architectures, automated error detection, telemetry frameworks, and continuous safe release pipelines.

Additionally, you will mentor and grow a team of TPMs, align cross-functional engineering and product stakeholders, and leverage data-driven automation to scale operations.

In Google Search, we're reimagining what it means to search for information – any way and anywhere. To do that, we need to solve complex engineering challenges and expand our infrastructure, while maintaining a universally accessible and useful experience that people around the world rely on. In joining the Search team, you'll have an opportunity to make an impact on billions of people globally.
