Staff Software Engineer, YouTube Ads Video Creatives

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience with software development in modern web technologies, frontend frameworks, and distributed web applications.
  • Experience with modern web languages and frameworks (e.g., TypeScript, JavaScript, Angular, React, Dart, or similar) and server-side RPC integration.
  • Experience leading technical architecture, cross-functional projects, or mentoring engineers.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
  • Experience building interfaces that incorporate AI/ML models, LLMs, or generative media workflows where user steering and refinement.

We help advertisers create or enhance their (video) assets for optimal performance. Our goal is to combine human skill and creativity with AI to help advertisers create or enhance their video assets in the Google Ads buyside frontend.

Our team owns the core suite of advertiser-facing video creation and enhancement tools on the Google Ads buyside. Our team focuses on improving these flows and building new flows where the advertiser is in the loop to create and optimize videos.

We partner with major demand teams to integrate these flows deeply into the buyside, delivering a seamless and frictionless user experience.

Google Ads is helping power the open internet with the best technology that connects and creates value for people, publishers, advertisers, and Google. We’re made up of multiple teams, building Google’s Advertising products including search, display, shopping, travel and video advertising, as well as analytics. Our teams create trusted experiences between people and businesses with useful ads. We help grow businesses of all sizes from small businesses, to large brands, to YouTube creators, with effective advertiser tools that deliver measurable results. We also enable Google to engage with customers at scale.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Poland: zł480000 - zł492000 (PLN) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Develop direct technical leadership and architecture.
  • Influence and coach a distributed team of engineers.
  • Facilitate alignment and clarity across teams on goals, outcomes, and timelines.
  • Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance large-scale software solutions.
