Customer Engineer, Google Workspace

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience in a customer-facing technical pre-sales or solutions architecture role.
  • Experience with Unified Communications and Collaboration (UC&C) and enterprise productivity solutions.
  • Experience with scripting for automation, code development and low code/no code solutions.
  • Experience gathering business requirements, conducting white-boarding sessions, and leading technical presentations.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a technical field.
  • Experience in modern productivity and collaboration platforms, with expertise in integrating AI, IoT, and Audio/Visual (A/V) systems to deliver next-generation user experiences.
  • Ability to effectively present and articulate the business value of the Google AI full stack, Generative AI solutions, and cloud platform capabilities to C-suite executives, Line of Business (LoB) leaders, and technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to drive thought leadership in digital workplace transformation, the future of work, AI-powered workplace solutions, smart spaces, or related emerging domain areas.

You liaise with the product marketing management and engineering teams to stay on top of industry trends and devise enhancements to Google Cloud products.

As a Google Workspace Customer Engineer, you will play a key role in understanding the needs of our customers, enabling them with your business and technical expertise so that they can help shape the future of work and the digital workplace. In this role you will be expected to drive the Technical Win strategy for key accounts, acting as the bridge between ambiguous customer challenges and AI-driven solutions. A central focus of your role will be driving Agentic Workplace Transformation (AWT) by helping customers move beyond simple task acceleration to automating complex, multi-step workflows across their entire organization. You will demonstrate how the unified platform of Google Workspace and Gemini Enterprise breaks down "context silos," allowing humans and AI agents to collaborate seamlessly with shared enterprise-wide context grounded in the organization's data. You will advise customers on deploying and governing the AI agents—built by Google, partners, or the customers themselves—to ensure high-value automation at an organizational scale while maintaining enterprise-grade security and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Educate our customers on the power of Google Workspace and Google Enterprise, enable them to successfully drive technical innovation.
  • Partner with customers, understand their requirements and pain points and develop solutions and proof-of-concepts (POCs).
  • Build trusted advisory relationships and make recommendations on integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure required to successfully implement a complete solution providing best practice advice to customers to optimize Google Cloud effectiveness.
  • Help customers develop AI practice with strong technology direction for creating and building solutions to elevate customer productivity.
  • Deliver Industry or vertical solutions that allow Google to help customers maximize advantages of using Google Workspace.
