Manager, Internal Communications

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in internal and executive communications with technology products or services.
  • 4 years of experience in a people management, supervision, or team leadership role.
  • Experience communicating via emails, scripts, and internal presentations.
  • Experience in stakeholder management across a variety of levels and roles.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and adapting to shifting priorities.
  • Experience with cross-functional stakeholders to develop, influence, manage, and drive communications narratives across the internal organization.
  • Ability to lead teams and devise and execute on multiple projects, and work with a global team of colleagues and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, high-stress environments.

About the job

As a member of the Executive and Internal Communications team, you will be part of a team which produces employee communications and events for Google executives. You will work with members of your internal client team on communications initiatives, projects and programs. You will support the work of the team to create strategic communications campaigns, come up with innovative ways to engage employees that are in tune with Google's culture, write communications, business update presentations and talking points. You will also collaborate with internal partners as needed across functions (PR, Policy, Legal, HR, Operations, etc.) and geographies.

As the Manager for the Internal Communications team, you will be responsible for devising creative and interesting ways to articulate the benefits of Google's products. You will synthesize clear, concise narratives from a multitude of disparate sources. You will be responsible for interacting with executives and senior leaders with knowledge about Google's core business, cultural context within the country, and the broader tech industry.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic internal communication plans and executive communications to engage and inform employees.
  • Interface with the internal communications team and align on consistent messaging to engage and inform employees.
  • Write concise and compelling executive communications for a variety of formats and audiences, including business presentations, talking points, change comms, social posts, and speeches. Collaborate with internal partners as needed across functions (e.g., PR, policy, legal, HR, operations, Go-to-Market, etc.) and sites.
  • Lead country events with high-profile guests, and communicate creatively using Google’s products and AI tools. 
  • Collaborate to articulate an idea for Google’s opportunity in India with employees in the country, and leaders regionally and globally.
