Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing or support role.
  • Experience with enterprise architectures and migration strategies for technologies such as Oracle, VMware, or SAP.
  • Experience with cloud engineering, on-premise engineering, virtualization, or containerization platforms.
  • Experience in building product demonstrations and prototypes as part of a technical workshop or executive briefing.
  • Experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with data centers consolidation, relocation, migration, or virtualization projects.
  • Experience in migrating, architecting and developing software or infrastructure for scalable, distributed systems.
  • Experience in configuration management (e.g., Puppet, Chef, CFEngine, Salt), and functional operations of server, storage, and network functions.
  • Experience with networking concepts (e.g., Routing, VPNs, load balancers, and firewalls).
  • Experience migrating Linux workloads across private, public, or hybrid cloud environments.
  • Experience with enterprise approaches for business continuity, disaster recovery, and backup and restore.

You listen and deliver what is most helpful for the customer. You assist fellow sales Googlers by problem-solving key technical issues for our customers. You liaise with the product marketing management and engineering teams to stay on top of industry trends and devise enhancements to Google Cloud products.

As a Practice Customer Engineer (CE) with a specialty in infrastructure migrations, you will partner with Technical Sales teams and other CEs to differentiate Google Cloud to our customers. You will serve as a technical expert and accelerate technical wins for the migration of enterprise workloads, in partnership with platform CEs, Google Cloud Consulting, and partners. You will direct migrating pilot workloads as proof-of-concepts and demos to sell complex migrations of large enterprise workloads to customers. You will solve migration-centered customer issues and provide a critical feedback loop to influence customers, partners and product development.

You will have excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills, engaging with customers to understand their business and technical requirements, and present solutions to facilitate and derisk the migration to Google Cloud. You will blend sales prowess, market knowledge and experience with technical engagement to prove the differentiating value of the Google Cloud portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the technical win for complex enterprise workloads, engage in current state discovery and design end-state, modern cloud solutions with compelling technical value to motivate rapid and successful migration, primarily supporting the sales cycle from technical evaluation through customer ramp.
  • Collaborate with our sales team to orchestrate winning strategies, translate business requirements to technical solutions, deliver the development and prototyping to provide functional, customer-tailored solutions that secure buy-in from customer domain experts.
  • Provide deep technical consultation to customers, acting as a technical advisor and building lasting customer relationships.
  • Leverage learnings from customer engagements to build reusable solutions and assets with the Go-To-Market team.
  • Work within Product and Engineering management systems to document, prioritize and drive resolution of customer feature requests and issues.
