Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of interaction design experience in product design or UX design.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience working in a complex, cross-functional organization.
  • 2 years of experience leading design projects.
  • Experience designing for enterprise platforms, mature consumer-facing support systems, or within the healthcare industry.
  • Experience leveraging AI workflows and tools alongside user research to incorporate system-level thinking into product development.

You will join our multi-disciplinary UX team, collaborating with Engineering and Product Management, leveraging user insights to create industry-leading products.

As an Interaction Designer, you'll apply user-centered design methods to craft industry-leading user experiences from concept to execution, working with design partners to evolve the Google design language to build beautiful, innovative products.

As a Senior UX Designer, you will shape the future of how users and partners interact with Google’s support ecosystem. You will contribute to the design strategy and execution for critical areas within a mission-critical portfolio, including scaled support solutions, 1:1 support experiences, partner and operations tools, and user voice platforms. You will be at the forefront of transforming our user experiences through AI, leveraging generative technologies to design more intuitive, proactive, and personalized journeys, bridging the gap between complex backend operations and seamless, human-centric interfaces.

In gTech Users and Products (gUP), our mission is to advocate for Google’s users by creating helpful and trusted experiences across the product ecosystem. We achieve this by meeting partners and consumers where they are with support and help, representing their needs with our product partners and proposing fixes and features that elevate their engagement with Google's diverse product ecosystem. Additionally we provide a range of product services that ensure our products are optimized for every user, no matter where they are in the world (e.g., localization, digitization, partner integration and more).

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $159000 - $231000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to understand requirements, and provide creative, thoughtful solutions.
  • Communicate the user experience at various stages of the design process with wireframes, flow diagrams, storyboards, mockups, or high fidelity prototypes.
  • Integrate user feedback and business requirements into ongoing product experience updates.
  • Advocate for the prioritization of design centered changes, refinements, and improvements.
  • Drive design strategy by leveraging generative AI technologies and workflows to create intuitive, proactive, and personalized user journeys.
