Senior Software Developer, Ads Safety Enablement and Prevention

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
  • 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
  • 2 years of experience with one or more of the following languages: SQL, R, Python, or C++.
  • 2 years of experience building Machine Learning (ML) solutions.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
  • 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
  • 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
  • Experience developing accessible technologies.

Ads Safety is responsible for safeguarding the Google Ads ecosystem. In this mission, we strive to maintain the trust of billions of users worldwide while at the same time protecting $250+ billion in annual revenue.

The Enablement and Prevention team of Ads Safety is at the center of this mission in building scalable and intelligent systems to prevent bad actors from being able to serve ads to our users, and enable good actors to advertise with minimal friction. We strongly believe “the best cure is to prevent” and work with our partners in Ads, Trust & Safety, GBO, and DeepMind to leverage modern machine learning technologies in building innovative solutions to detect risk and establish trust as early as possible.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Canada: $182000 - $186000 (CAD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Work with the team to develop innovative solutions to classify and understand actors and their assets including destinations in Google Ads using modern machine learning techniques.
  • Collaborate with partner teams to provide holistic solutions to detect and stop bad actors from re-entering Google Ads, and to reduce friction for good actors.
  • Build effective and explainable clustering-based solutions to ensure consistent treatment of both good and bad actors in Google Ads.
