RF Hardware Engineer, Google Pixel

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience designing RF solutions for consumer electronics, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
  • Experience in board-level and firmware debug, schematic creation, and PCB design.
  • Experience using RF equipment such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers and communication test boxes.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of different wireless communication systems, such as 5G nR, LTE etc.
  • Knowledge of RF software tools like ADS, HFSS.
  • Knowledge of test automation using scripting languages like Python, and of Labview.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Strong board-level and firmware debug skills.

As an RF Hardware Engineer you will be part of our design team building Customer Electronics (CE) products such as cellular phones. You will require a solid RF systems design background and experience building and shipping CE products. You also have knowledge of system architecture. You will be directly involved in cross-functional team engagement defining overall product architecture to achieve the lowest possible cost and best RF performance.

The Google Pixel team focuses on designing and delivering the world's most helpful mobile experience. The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together the best of Google’s artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $132000 - $189000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Design cellular solutions for Pixel phones.
  • Design for volume manufacturing and support factory engineers from prototyping to product launch.
  • Be responsible for PCB design for optimal RF performance.
  • Work with component vendors and partners to develop the RF front end.
  • Support certification and compliance issues.
