About the job

A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

In this role, you will drive Google’s network demand metrics framework. You will lead the definition, architecture, and visualization of Network Demand's (NetDM's) metrics portfolio across three core levels: Strategic (executive decision-making and long-term planning goals), Diagnostic (root-cause analysis, variance tracking, and forecast accuracy drivers), and Operational (day-to-day lifecycle tracking, cycle times, and workflow execution). You will build and maintain the reporting dashboards and visualization tools necessary to pull, synthesize, and display this data cleanly for stakeholders. Leveraging scripting (SQL, Python, Appscript, etc.) and Google's AI tools, you will automate metric data collection and workflow tasks to ensure high data quality and timely reporting. You will partner closely with product, engineering, data science, and planning teams to translate complex business requirements into structured metric definitions, interactive dashboards, and scalable program frameworks.

Behind everything our users see online is the architecture built by the Technical Infrastructure team to keep it running. From developing and maintaining our data centers to building the next generation of Google platforms, we make Google's product portfolio possible. We're proud to be our engineers' engineers and love voiding warranties by taking things apart so we can rebuild them. We keep our networks up and running, ensuring our users have the best and fastest experience possible.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

  • Partner with leadership and cross-functional teams to define, standardize, and maintain NetDM’s metrics framework across Strategic, Diagnostic, and Operational levels. Establish clear metric definitions, baselines, and health indicators across the network demand lifecycle.
  • Design, build, and maintain interactive reporting dashboards and visualization tools.
  • Ensure metrics are presented intuitively for various audiences, ranging from operational planning teams to executive leadership.
  • Leverage scripting data queries, and AI (SQL, Python, Appscript, etc.) to build and vibecode internal reporting tools, aggregate metric data, and automate manual workflow tasks to reduce reporting cycle times.
  • Implement structured reporting frameworks and data mappings required to seamlessly onboard metrics for new network products, evolving architectures, and process updates.
