Commercial Manager, Deal Pursuit

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience in management consulting, sales operations, business strategy, or corporate advisory roles.
  • 3 years of experience working with executive stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in business (MBA), law (Juris Doctor), or equivalent background in management consulting.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and alignment skills across matrixed cross-functional organizations.
  • Proven track record negotiating complex business, legal, and commercial terms directly with large enterprise customers.
  • Demonstrated curiosity and adeptness with AI technology, particularly leveraging AI tools to optimize agreement workflows.
  • Strong background in change management, vendor management, and operating with high detail in evolving business environments.

The Business Strategy and Operations organization provides business critical insights using analytics, ensures cross functional alignment of goals and execution, and helps teams drive strategic partnerships and new initiatives forward. We stay focused on aligning the highest-level company priorities with effective day-to-day operations, and help evolve early stage ideas into future-growth initiatives.

As a Commercial Manager for Global Deal Pursuit, you will serve as a business partner, accelerating agreement closure timelines while mitigating financial and contractual risk across our professional services portfolio. You will combine market knowledge with tech industry savvy to discuss cost-effective solutions that support overall growth. You will ensure clients' needs are addressed while minimizing exposure and operational impact, building and maintaining key relationships with internal stakeholders and external consultants.

Responsibilities

  • Work with identified high-propensity goal accounts and help to convert pipelines into signed agreements, supporting different commercial and legal structures related to Google Cloud Consulting offerings.
  • Discuss custom terms for Delivery delays, warranties, acceptance, schedules, and indemnification for both our clients and resold consulting services.
  • Build out the contracting and approvals management plan, driving internal approval and steering towards compliant transactions, securing the right signatories, and establishing order of operations, including anticipating and managing escrow processes.
  • Bring together multiple internal stakeholders (Partnerships, Legal, Finance, Product, GTM, Sales, etc.) and drive progress on agreement negotiations, balancing operational complexity and business needs.
