Principal Engineer, AlloyDB

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 15 years of experience with systems development in database, systems, or AI.
  • 15 years of experience with high-availability and disaster recovery solutions, such as clustering, replication, and backups.
  • 10 years of experience with database security best practices, including encryption, authentication, and access control.
  • 10 years of experience leading technical initiatives internally and externally with industry partners.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with ideation and innovating technology at scale, and passion for development and the use of cross-platform shared code.
  • In-depth knowledge of database technologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and troubleshoot complex database issues.
  • Excellent product sensibility, with ability to convert and drive key product innovations and opportunities.

  • Take execution responsibility for major programs and drive them from concept to release.  
  • Collaborate with Google cloud teams and Google DeepMind in developing state-of-art capabilities.
  • Lead and grow a team of technical leaders to achieve goals.
  • Work effectively with external customers.
