Strategic Outreach and Visits Manager

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in policy analysis and campaigns, working on technology issues or the policy environments that surround them.
  • 4 years of experience working within government, think tanks, public interest groups, technology industry groups, or corporate public policy organizations.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working in a scheduling and advance, protocol office of an elected official, government agency.
  • Experience planning and executing events.
  • Knowledge of technology and the policy environments that surround them, and experience advocating on behalf of tech policy issues.
  • Ability to identify opportunities and areas for improvement, and to operate in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with multiple teams simultaneously.

About the job

As a part of this role, you will have a unique view into, and the ability to make an impact on high-level executive engagements, communications, and interactions.

In this role, you will support executive-level visits in the region, lead strategic executive planning and work with cross-functional teams to plan for key moments. You are the glue between regional work and global plans. Your role requires regular progress reporting and air traffic control while also proactively sharing best practices and resources with the regional team.

As a part of this role, key components include evaluating requests, ensuring discipline around level and ROI, planning for trips, preparing materials and ensuring well prepped teams/executives all while managing stakeholders. You will manage the schedule while in region and execute on logistics.

In this role, the trip won't end with departure, you will lead executive follow-up including readouts, impact reporting, thank you notes and debriefs to drive continuous improvement.

Working closely with Google leaders, GAPP seeks to identify key policy issues, address carefully to others’ views and opinions, and distill and share the company’s perspective on those issues with external stakeholders. While we focus on challenges affecting the internet, our issue areas are increasingly broad and encompass many areas where public policy, business, and technology intersect.Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Belgium: €106000 - €108000 (EUR) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Act as a strategic partner, planning for and executing engagements between executives and government officials in-region and collaborating on cross-functional workstreams (Ex: Communications and Press/Government Affairs and Public Policy (GAPP) trips).
  • Serve as an Ambassador, understanding the workflows of the team including the new briefing template and resources around demos, as well as the wider Engagement team's work including narratives and case studies and amplification levers.
  • Elevate resources, like AI tools, to help people prepare materials, determining and socializing central trip materials early to avoid duplication of work.
  • Connect the dots by looking across the global team to find ways to re-use instead of reinvent, finding synergies across executive engagements, pulling in cross-functional teams as needed, reminding people of needs like Quorum.
