Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., C++, Rust), or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • Experience with bluetooth or other wireless technologies or networking.
  • Working knowledge of Rust and C++.
  • Developing software systems throughout the entire lifecycle through concept, design, build, release, and software updates.

Fuchsia is a new operating system, being built from the ground up to rethink how computing should work in a modern world. We work in the open - our code and reviews are open source: https://fuchsia.googlesource.com. We are currently running on millions of Google smart displays, and soon expanding to other form factors. This opportunity is to work on Fuchsia’s secure, reliable, flexible bluetooth stack.

Fuchsia is a modern, open source operating system that is simple, secure, updatable, and performant. It’s a general purpose OS, designed to power an ecosystem of hardware and software, and provides core operating system functions like system resource management, a driver framework, and software abstractions.

Responsibilities

  • Implement new bluetooth profiles in Rust.
  • Develop APIs that applications use to connect and communicate with bluetooth devices.
  • Complete system-level integration efforts with networking, media and input layers.
  • Manage end-to-end integration and certification tests.
  • Work with audio and other subsystem teams to implement next generation capabilities including low energy audio.
