Magic Eye aims to make Google better at user-focused, data-informed decision making in order to help the company deliver better products. The Magic Eye team integrates data from across Google's consumer products to create a unified cross-product view of our users' activity in the products, their accounts, and the devices they use. The data generated by Magic Eye is used to answer Google's most important questions and powers many of the strategies pursued by Google at the company-level.

The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products. We are owners and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure at Google. These are the essential building blocks for excellent, safe, and coherent experiences for our users and drive the pace of innovation for every developer. We look across Google’s products to build central solutions, break down technical barriers and strengthen existing systems. As the Core team, we have a mandate and a unique opportunity to impact important technical decisions across the company.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $207000 - $301000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • As a Software Engineer on the Magic Eye team, you will build and maintain analytics and storage pipelines that give valuable insight into short and long-term user behaviors across Google's ecosystem. The primary focus of your role will be:
  • Data Engineering and Analytics Pipeline: Build scalable growth frameworks, data capabilities, and features to strengthen product adoption and understand user interactions.
  • Advanced Analytical Methods: Apply and evaluate advanced machine learning and statistical techniques to analyze massive datasets, extracting actionable insights.
  • Data Warehouse and Infrastructure: Be responsible for the large-scale storage of cross-product data, maintaining data pipelines, and establishing common definitions for responsible access.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with data scientists, product managers, and central organizations to align data architectures and develop valuable company-wide insights.
