Software Engineer III, Managed Airflow

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with software development using Java or Python or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
  • 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
  • Experience working with two or more of the following: distributed system development, programming in Java or Python.
  • Experience in Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Spanner and CloudSQL.
  • Experience with data analytics, data processing, data warehouses, data lakes, and BI.

Managed Airflow’s (formerly Cloud Composer) mission is to provide a managed, reliable, and secure workflow platform that enables customers to easily orchestrate data processing and service interactions. Managed Airflow is the default way of orchestrating workloads for Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and other public clouds. It's growing at a very fast pace. We have an ambitious roadmap to make Managed Airflow easier to use and operate, make it highly available, providing multi-team support and secure thru integrations with GCP horizontal features and organizational-level policies. Our customers span from small companies, through medium ones and enterprises. We are growing fast and looking for strong engineers interested in or familiar with big data processing and architecting and implementing distributed solutions based on cloud computing technologies.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and launch new product features and components.
  • Participate in monitoring and debugging production issues.
  • Participate in resolving customer issues related to usage of Managed Airflow product, learning from the Customer Cases and improving the product so the same issues don't pop up again.
  • Manage individual project priorities, deadlines and deliverables.
  • Communicate well with other team members.
